META UNIVERSITY
The META-University is an international forum for enhanced interchange of themed enquiry into the arena of the disciplines of architecture and urbanism.
Formed by a consortium of academic institutions from across the state of Europe, the META-University is a unique association of concerned establishments, all sharing common interest in the issues that shape the built environment. The contributing partner institutions, all of university status, embrace the positive advantage of unifying integrated and mutual co-operation whilst at the same time acknowledging each others different qualities, attitudes, priorities and working methods.
The META-University recognises this co-operation as the paramount means to realise its dual aspiration to stimulate international student, staff and knowledge exchange and to encourage through the development of international networks strong intercultural relations.
In terms of curriculum and programmes of study, the central ambition is and remains to provide high level Joint Master Programmes, with possibilities towards PhD-programmes, in specific and themed areas of academic investigation.
META-U is organized therefore around the frame work of the research-programmes, as defined by the participating universities. The in-depth character of the programme of study is thereby ensured, with further beneficial consequence being that, rather than a mere sum of courses and projects, the programme of study can offer added value through the themed tailor-made study components.
The viability of the META-University lies in its academic integrity and commitment to the broadening of awareness and expansion of knowledge transfer across international boundaries into the contemporary factors that influence the making of a sustainable built environment.
